Brought in my father's Seiko 5 that had not been serviced for years. The intake process was straightforward — they noted the condition and called me before doing anything beyond the inspection. Got the watch back running well with a written summary of what was done. Took about two weeks as they said it would.

Full service on a vintage Omega — they were careful with it and kept me informed throughout. The service record they provided is genuinely useful; it includes the timing results across positions which I had not seen from any previous workshop. Restoration came in at the quoted price with no unexpected additions. Would have appreciated slightly more frequent updates mid-service, but the work was thorough.

I travel to Bangkok every few months and made a point to drop off my grandfather's pocket movement for restoration. Kasem took his time to understand the history of the piece before touching it. The photographs they took during the work are something I genuinely value — there is a record of what it looked like inside, which was in surprisingly good condition.

Finding a watchmaker in Bangkok who works on mechanical watches seriously is not easy. Siam was recommended by someone in our collectors' group and the experience matched what was described — calm, unhurried, and honest about what the movement needed. My ETA 2824 came back running well within the rate I expect.

Inspection and light service on a dress watch I had bought recently without a service history. They found the movement was in better shape than I expected — and said so clearly rather than recommending work that wasn't necessary. That alone earned a lot of trust from me. The written note they gave at collection was detailed enough to be useful later.

Three watches serviced here over the past year. The consistency of the experience is what keeps me coming back — same intake process, same level of communication, same quality of the written record on return. None of them have had any issues in the months since. Straightforward and reliable.

Detailed Work Accounts

The Situation

1960s Longines Manual Wind — Stopped Completely

A collector brought in a 1964 Longines 30L that had stopped working after decades in storage. The owner wanted it running again but was concerned about preserving the dial, which showed an attractive patina he did not want disturbed.

What Was Done

After intake inspection, the mainspring was found to be intact but the movement had run dry — lubricants had completely degraded. A full overhaul was carried out, with the dial and hands photographed before removal and protected throughout. No cleaning was applied to the dial surface.

The owner was contacted before each stage where a decision was needed. The case was cleaned but not polished.

The Outcome

Movement returned to stable operation within +/– 8 seconds per day across positions. Dial and hands preserved in original condition. Total time: seven weeks.

"The dial came back exactly as I left it, which was my main concern. They clearly understood what I was asking for."

The Situation

Modern Automatic — Losing 4 Minutes Per Day

An everyday watch worn in Bangkok's climate, serviced elsewhere two years prior, had developed significant timekeeping issues. The owner was unsure whether the movement had a fault or simply needed attention.

What Was Done

Inspection revealed the balance wheel's regulator had shifted. The previous service's lubricants had also degraded faster than expected — likely due to Bangkok's humidity affecting the movement over time.

A full service was recommended and agreed. The movement was cleaned, re-oiled, and the regulator set correctly. Timing regulated across six positions.

The Outcome

Movement running within +3 seconds per day. Client was advised that Bangkok's climate may warrant slightly shorter service intervals — every 3–4 years rather than 5. Watch returned in three weeks.

"Nobody had mentioned the climate angle to me before. It explained a lot about why the watch had gone off so quickly."
